"Moms who gave up the Internet were very annoyed," Williams said, adding that one mom was exasperated by having to visit an office to put money on a highway toll card. "It was barbaric to her." Another child had to take a trip to the library to finish a report on China.

As a result, technology is driving a shift in behaviors at home. The study showed that, thanks to the Internet, a quarter of parents believe it's no longer necessary to spell well, reference printed dictionaries, or read the newspaper. Kids ages 8 to 14 agreed in slightly lesser percentages (an average of one-fifth) about the usefulness of spelling well, dictionaries and newspapers, except when it came to printed maps. About 20 percent of parents, versus 21 percent of kids, said they no longer need to know how to read a geographic map.
Still, to evaluate the accuracy of information on the Internet in the form of blogs, kids must learn critical thinking skills, she said.

Each one of these points is, in some aspect, a concern to many people, especially those with children.

But many a concern lies inside each of these, while often not voiced, each bring up a problem and bigger situation then often is conceived.

Take for instance, "Still, to evaluate the accuracy of information on the Internet in the form of blogs, kids must learn critical thinking skills." What are these skills? Where are they defined? Where are they taught? A standard US curriculum I finished just recently (last 5 years) did not cover something of this kind directly. It was not a LESSON taught, it was an undertone or "moral" of that lesson. The responsibility of bringing about that realization of ability in students fell squarely between the seats, those seats closest being history, "English" (Literature appreciation and remedial grammar - 12 years) and P.E. The sciences gave you the Scientific Method, it's something but I don't think of that when I read blogs.

Were this subject, content of which is undecided in public schooling, handed to someone as their responsibility it could start turning the scene around. It's a giant leap in the right direction, I thought I'd bring it up.

Interesting area and town in Russia. The city itself was not that large until established for industrial purposes (making tractors) in the 1930s, and later a large tank making plant established by Stalin for WW II. Setting it's name for some time as "Tankograd" (tank city).

The city is still an industrial center for machinery and electronics both for civic and military purposes.

That gives you a bit of an overview for the city. As this new mission is now the 3rd in the area there can be definite motion made in integral portion of Russian.

Nepal's human rights record, particularly in recent years, is poor, with over 13,000 people killed in 11 years of Maoist guerilla insurgency against the former government of Nepal, and an estimated 40,000 Nepalese children displaced over the course of the conflict."

Given the history of rights over the last several years in Nepal, it's a good thing that some rights programs are being formed in the area. A population of 27,600,000 court in guerrilla war is nobody's idea of a good time.

"According to the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, a program created in 1998 by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, two-thirds of teens say that losing their parents' respect and pride is one of the main reasons they don't smoke marijuana or use other drugs.
Yet many parents remain silent, even when speaking up about drugs can help their children so much, simply because they don't know how to broach this sensitive subject with them..."
"'...We are providing this new parents' education program because children really need their help," said Lidia Dinges, spokesperson for the Foundation. "By each parent taking responsibility to talk to their children about drugs we can save millions of lives."'

This is the subject being taken up by the Foundation for a Drug Free World, a foundation headquartered in Los Angeles, California, forwarding the campaign "No To Drugs, Yes To Life."

These are photos taken in Isarog. The one on the left is a child fixing a broken toy in an evacuation centre. The one on the right is of smoke billowing from the volcana standing about their mountain, this was taken through the hole of a flag now planted where homes stood.

Fires raging through towns and farmland

Indonesia rebuild

Following the Tsunami in December of 2004 there was a tremendous amount of support that came from the world with roughly 6.6 billion dollars. In this article it is going over the misdirection of these funds to organizations not meant for country wide rebuilding.

There has been 8,000 homes built but there was a projected 500,000 needed. While there are the "ledgitimate" aspects of excuse for not completing this covered in the article, some of which is beaucracy and some of which isn't. The unfortunate truth pointed up by this is no one, in 2 years, has taken the responsibility to handle this area. It gives as excuses essentially all the beaucratic steps needing to be taken to get these houses made, like in the case of the records of land ownership being swep away in the tsunami, the dispute for ownership is prevalent. This is insane, their entire country is gone. They are given 6.6 billion U.S. dollars and who knows how many willing volunteers and no one will lay down the plan of X houses, here, here, here, here, here and here.

New Scientology Mission of Sunland

There's been a new Scientology mission in the Crescent Valley of California in the Sunland/Tujunga area. The mission was opened with a representitive of the LAPD and of the Neighborhood Council the Representitive of Interfaith activities.

New Coalition for Human Rights Fromed in London

At the Church of Scientology London there has been the formation of the Coalition for Human Rights and Peace. It's purpose is to see that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is made known and used at all levels of society through coordination of the human rights activities of like-minded groups.

The Scientology Celebrity Centre International celebrities Christmas Benefit was last week with a number of celebrities attending for the benefit including: Kirstie Alley, Kelly Preston, Jason Lee, Giovanni Ribisi, Danny Masterson, Erika Christensen, Christopher Masterson, Marisol Nichols, Catherine Bell and Jennifer Aspen.

The performances were done with sponsorship from Hollywood Policy Activities League (PAL). This annual event has raised over $190,000 for community programs since it began in 1993. Next Christmas time see if you can't make it done to Hollywood and check in at the Scientology Celebrity Centre for this event.

Were You Wondering About Judy Garland?

No, Judy Garland is not from Seattle, however, she did do some performances there. She performed twice in Seattle and once in Spokane.

Here again, we have another case of psychiatrists getting their hands on a beautiful, creative, imaginative person, and sending them on their way to hell.

Because in the Hollywood industry you have to control your weight, certain people will prescribe drugs to "help" you do this. That is what happened with Judy Garland. She was given sedatives and barbituates to help her control her weight and to sleep. She became addicted and she was having hallucinations, along with erratic behavior. So what do the psychiatrists do? They electro shock her, of course. Her spleen became messed up, she got a swollen liver, etc. The end result, she died in a London Hotel of a psychiatric drug overdose. Another publication that reveals more atrocities such as these is the Freedom Magazine. Human Rights Activists such as Mr. L. Ron Hubbard, Mr. David Miscavige, Mr. Kofi Anan, are people that are really making a difference in making Human Rights known to all people. Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) works tirelessly in bringing psychiatrists to justice for the crimes they commit and the Human Rights they steal from a person.

And Now About Frances Farmer...

Did you know that Frances Farmer was also from Seattle?

She went to West Seattle High School and she also went to the University of Washington. She was a stage and screen actress who excelled in what she did.

Unfortunately, she was murdered by psychiatrists. And it's actually really sad how it all started. In short, she was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric institute where she was given at least 90 insulin shocks and electro shock treatments, she even spoke about being raped by orderlies, knawed on by rats, poisoned by food, strapped in straight jackets, and nearly drowning in ice baths. The last "treatment" that she got was a lobotomy. She was never the same again and died. Click here to see the full story and to find many more like this. It's unbelievably disgusting what goes on under psychiatric "care". It's called torture; we thought that ended after after World War II. Think again.

These violate our Human Rights. In Scientology, we work to educate people on their rights as a human being on this planet. And it isn't just something that applies to a few people, it applies to ALL people because we are all equal. As I stated in the Cobain section below, there is an organization which works to bring these psychiatrists to justice; Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR). They have worked on many cases which exposed the atrocities of psychiatry. One publication that goes into this is the Freedom Magazine, published by the Church of Scientology International.

You can find out more about what Scientology is doing on a broad scale in order to bring real solutions to the planet, instead of the the torturous, evil "solutions" that psychatrists make up. What I Think of Psychiatrists...

Psychiatrists are acutally murderers. They violate a person's human rights to freedom of choice, no torture, and many, many more. Psychiatrists will involuntarily commit someone to an institution because they are "hyperactive" or "depressed", then they will subject the person to complete and utter torture. Another thing that they do is drug people for some "disorder" that they have, which are not actually scientifically proven. An organization that works tirelessly in revealing these atrocities that psychiatrists label as "medical" and bring them to justice, is CCHR. Also another publication that covers this is the Freedom Magazine, published by the Church of Scientology International.

One of the reasons that I bring this up is because Kurt Cobain was actually misdiagnosed as "hyperactive" as a child and prescribed Ritalin, which is like cocaine for kids. Because of the abdominal pain that it caused, he started taking Heroin to "quench" the pain. Then he killed himself with a gunshot to the head. How could such an incredible artist, very creative as a child, basically be murdered? It started with the prescription of Ritalin which is prescribed to young children daily, then handed out at schools like it is the lunch line or something.

There are Human Rights violations like this going on daily in our society. Human Rights activists such as David Miscavige, Kofi Annan, L. Ron Hubbard, along with many others, work to make these Human Rights a reality.

Here's some other stuff about Seattle:

Someone that many people know as a legend from Seattle, Kurt Cobain. He was an incredible artist and I loved listening to his music. One thing that many people might not know is that he was prescribed Ritalin when he was a kid; then he got addicted to Heroin, and I think that most people know the story from there. The full data on that is in one booklet that the Church of Scientology produced called "Kiddie Cocaine". It's pretty outragous that such a creative artist could die that way. It's sad.

In fact, drugs plague our society today, all the way from your 7-year-old sniffing poisonous inhalents, to teenagers taking Ecstasy like candy every Friday night, or even some high corporate executive sniffing cocaine regularly "to relieve stress" or something. Some Info From a Different View

So now that you have been introduced to Scientology in many different ways from my previous posts, let me tell you a little about my experience in growing up in Seattle.

Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S. You can literally go anywhere around there and be awed by the beauty and unique look of this city. The main attraction is obviously the Space Needle. I remember going there with my mom on my birthday and we went to the top and it is actually a revolving restraunt! It was awesome.

I moved to California about 7 years ago and in that time, they built this building that is a tribute to Jimmy Hendrix. From what I heard, it is supposed to be a smashed guitar or something like that; then the monorail runs through it. Just about anywhere you go in Seattle, you can look and see Mount Rainier; it's so beautiful, it looks like it is floating on the clouds. Now, believe it or not, you can still go into the city and ride around in a horse carriage on a tour. Oh yeah, and you cannot forget "the Flying Fish"...

Now, since my parents' religion was Scientology, we often went to the Seattle Church which used to be located on 3rd Ave, but is now located only a few blocks away from the Space Needle and Seattle Center. So that is how they raised me, using L. Ron Hubbard's technology on rearing children, etc. They did not pick this religion for me, they left it up to me to decide what I wanted to do. They always let me go with my friends to their churches, mainly Christian and I even went on camping trips with those church youth groups too. So I was allowed to see for myself what religious path I wanted to follow. I discovered in Scientology that you do not need to strictly be a Scientologist; you can be a Christian and have your own beliefs and still be a Scientologist, you could be Catholic, anything. Scientology is simply an applied religious philosophy, founded by L. Ron Hubbard, to help improve Man as a spiritual being. So this is what I apply and use every day of my life. Scientology addresses many areas of concern to a person or society, such as: crime, immorality, drugs, Human Rights, Volunteer Minister activities, marriage, children, communication, education, and much more.

There are also many other Churches around the globe, literally from Australia to Europe, Africa to U.S.A. They're everywhere, not just in Seattle. Click here to find the one near you.

Scientology: My Viewpoint

Something that you should know about the Church of Scientology is that they hold different events there which are to forward community betterment and improve the environment that one lives in. When I was growing up in Seattle, there was a program that we participated in that went around the different neighborhoods in Seattle and cleaned them up. It was a whole group of children and adults. This made such a difference because it made us kids more responsible for our environment and it also cleaned things up. I remember where the old Church used to be located, there was a park right across the street that kids would love to go and play in, but when you go over there and take a good look around, you would find syringes, garbage, etc. It was not someplace that you would want your kids to play in. So we went in there with one of our clean-ups and handled the whole place, even gardening. It made it a great place. There are plenty of other things like this that you could help with too. Click here. That was just another little anecdote about something I've personally had experience with.

I know that there's a lot media about Scientology and there's a lot of controversial discussions about Scientology. That is why I wanted to use this Blog to tell you from me what I feel about Scientology. Then it's coming from a person, not on a via through the media or other means. I have gotten gains from Scientology, so I am not just speaking as a spectator.

That is why I urge you to find out for yourself about Scientology and I am providing links here for you to do that. That way, you can think for yourself and find out for yourself instead of just wondering or listening to others. There are lots of other thinks in my earlier posts on this Blog that you can check out; maybe it's just the right thing to help you with some problem that you are having right now. So now that you have been introduced to the Church of Scientology of Seattle by me, you can check it out on your own determinism. That's how I found out about Scientology, on my own determinism. Before that, I did not know what it was and was only wondering about it. This is the Church that I found out about it at. I did a service which explained the Scientology basics to me so that I could grasp the concept, and from there I was able to understand more and more.

The Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, discovered the truth of Man and the solutions to the problems that plague the society today.

One of the things that I have found that Scientologists have a passion in getting out broadly is the fact that all people this planet have Human Rights. Some people are not aware of this fact and they get violated all the time. I once knew a person who was not allowed to go to school and get an education; she was missing from class all the time, and it wasn't because she didn't want to be there. But everyone has the right to an education. There is an office in Brussels that is specifically dedicated to making these Human Rights known, in addition to people spreading the word internationally.

Another thing that the Scientologists, and non-Scientologists alike, are working tirelessly to promote is the international drug campaign to rid society of the drug use that is so commonplace that your 10-year-old kid might have a joint right in his pocket, or your 16-year-old may be partying with Ecstasy every Friday night, all the way to your own boss sniffing cocaine every morning before work, and it goes on. But there is a solution.

Church of Scientology of Seattle

There is a new Church of Scientology opening up in Washington State in the city of Seattle!

Currently there is an organization there which is located on Aurora Ave, which is delivering Scientology services. There is, however, a larger organization being renovated and set up for this organization. This is located near the Key Arena Center. The building overlooks the Puget Sound.

Right now the Church is scheduled to open at the beginning of 2007. This will be a similar opening to other Churches of Scientology, such as the Buffalo Organization Grand Opening, the New York Organization Grand Opening, the Madrid Organization Grand Opening, the San Francisco Grand Opening and the Johannesburg South Africa Grand Opening. At each of these Grand Openings, there were very key local speakers who spoke of the importance of having the Church there and what it means to that community and area. One of the keynote speakers was Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center, where he brought home the purpose of our organizations and what they are going to do in order to bring Dianetics and Scientology technology to that area.
